Аннотация
This presentation recapitulates the full range of possible voice quality settings with audio and video illustrations of cardinal / canonical examples of each category.
The audio / video clips in the presentation are drawn from the voices of singers, media presenters, and public personalities, collected over the years or found in online interviews or performances. The categories of voice quality settings cover the five major articulators: larynx, velo-pharyngeal port, tongue, jaw, lips. Illustrations include phonation types, larynx-height settings, coordination of laryngeal settings with pitch and with airway closure phases, differentiation of glottal vs. epilaryngeal tube adjustments, exemplification of laryngeal constriction (including tongue-retracted settings), tongue-raised settings, tongue-fronted settings, tongue-tip settings, nasality settings, mandibular adjustments, and postures of the lips.
